The second leg of its final journey (planned for October 2012) will be a 12 mile journey through the Californian cities of Inglewood and Los Angeles. A team of experts, including people who know a lot about trees, were put together to figure out the logistics of the actual procession.
Give the dimensions of what is being transported, the plan is to move street lights and power lines etc. out of the way. The space shuttle "Endeavour" (
IZ 312 reminds you that the American space shuttle programme is now in retirement). On September 21, 2012, it was exhibited in a 'flyover', over California, on its way to Los Angeles airport. From there it will be taken by road to its final destination, the California Science Center.
