The Tamil film lyricist T. S. Rangarajan was better known as "Vaali". He passed away in July 2013, leaving behind a well received filmography and literary career. Apart from lyrics, he also wrote the odd script, one of which was turned into a 1989 film that was banned by the government. The case went to court, and became an important milestone in the history of Indian politics and entertainment.
