The film is Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan", which is about a ballet company preparing to produce Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake". "Swan Lake" premiered (to mixed reactions) in Moscow in 1877. The man is Nicholas Nassem Taleb, author of "The Black Swan".
