This actress of yesteryears was once voted as being the most photogenic Indian actress by a Filmfare poll of cinematographers in the 50s. She was a cousin of the actress Shobhana Samarth and some of her best known work was in the film "Kaalapani" with Dev Anand, particularly in the songs "Nazar Laage Raajaa" and "Hum Bekhudi Mein Tum Ko".
