Festival au Désert is an annual music festival in the African country of Mali, that primarily features music of the
nomadic Touareg tribe. It also provides a platform for several other genres of world music. The 2012 edition got a high
dose of publicity after U2 singer Bono made a surprise appearance, even appearing on stage for a short while.
