Q.780

That time of the year when publications start announcing their Words of the Year. One of the first out of the blocks is Oxford Dictionary, whose American edition, declared this acronym to be their 2012 Word of the Year.

Incidentally, the acronym is celebrating 25 years in 2012 (and was the subject of IZ 641), so it's not new to us. What was new is the grammatical form and meaning that gave it the title. This is now being used as a verb in the US and in parts of the World Wide Web, where it means: "to create an image or video sequence, especially relating to an event".

What acronym?
