"Barefoot" is a non-profit organisation based in Orissa. In March 2013, the organisation received a National Tourism Award in the category of the "Best Responsible Tourism Initiative". This was for their work called "Green Riders", which has received a lot of acclaim since the time it was introduced in 2009. The name comes from the green coloured units provided to locals, along with the basic training in dealing with tourists.
