Najam Sethi is a well-known and well-respected media personality in Pakistan, editing a major daily and hosting a TV show. For a couple of months in 2013, he was appointed the caretaker Chief Minister of the Punjab province, as a neutral during the General Elections in the country.
In June 2013, the new government of Pakistan also appointed him the caretaker head of another organisation, which has usually been a high-profile and somewhat thankless job.
