In 1991, British writer Claire Tomalin wrote a biography called "The Invisible Woman: The Story of Nelly Ternan and ____ ____", detailing a decade-long secret dalliance between a famous author and Ternan. Not much was known about this affair before.

The book has now been turned into a film ("The Invisible Woman") in 2013, starring Felicity Jones in the title role and Ralph Fiennes as the author.
