The SASTRA Ramanujan Prize is awarded every year to a young mathematician judged to have done outstanding work in Ramanujan’s fields of interest. Manjul Bhargava won the inaugural award in 2005 and on 28th September 2015, Jacob Tsimerman of the University of Toronto won it.
There is one unique condition though. The age of the candidate should not be greater than 32 years. Why this particular number?

Srinivasa Ramanujan died at the age of 32During his short life, Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3,900 results. Nearly all his claims have now been proven correct. The Ramanujan Journal, an international publication, was launched to publish work in all areas of mathematics influenced by his work.
