The tenth world championship in this performing art form (which UNESCO has included in its list of intangible treasures of world heritage) concluded in Buenos Aires in August 2012. The championship was attended by dancers from around the world, but fittingly, an Argentinian pair called Facundo de la Cruz and Paola Sanz won.
