Qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals (to be held in Brazil) came to an end in November 2013, with thirty-two teams being identified. Asia had four direct qualifying spots, three of which were taken by Japan, South Korea, and Iran.
Which was the fourth team from Asia?
[+ Show Answer]
Australia, who for the last decade have switched from the Oceania Football Confederation to the Asian Football Confederation. This is because the OFC does not have a direct qualifying spot (the regional winner has to beat a team from the CONCACAF in a play-off), while the Asians have at least 4 slots, which the Aussies are sure of having a better shot at.
